Welcome to ’s regular catch-up news feature. With each issue we will bring you the best news that you may have missed. Grab the biggest mug you’ve got, fill it with your favourite brew, and catch up with us (and our favourite news anchor, Dee Dee)!
2019 is approaching rapidly, and that means it is time to wrap up the new wrap (ha) for 2018. I'd like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you that join me, whether it be twice a week or just once. It's your support that keeps us going!
The Princess Guide coming West in March
NIS America is bringing The Princess Guide across the pond to Western territories. The game will launch on March 26 in North America and March 29 in Europe, for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. It will feature the original Japanese audio with English subtitles, a plus for a lot of us.
There are four princesses from four kingdoms, each needing to learn how to guide their people to victory. The player, an experience knight, chooses one of the princesses to become their apprentice, teaching her war to fight back the evil that approaches.
Each princess has her own story, offering an awful lot of story options! Veronica is vengeful, Liliartie is gluttonous, Monomaria is chivalrous, and Alpana is a dragon princess. How much your chosen princess succeeds is entirely up to your teachings; you can even praise or scold them, as you would a child, on the battlefield.
Another FFX favourite joins the Dissidia NT roster
Yuna is a strong yet gentle spirit, an integral part to Final Fantasy X. She now joins other FFX favourite Tidus (who can forget the laughing scene?) in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (our review here), via standalone purchase or the season pass.
Yuna is a summoner who joins Tidus on his pilgrimage. In Dissidia, expect her to have an impressive array of magical abilities — including summoning Valefor, who can either attack or defend.
A new character isn't the only update to the title, as the Final Battlefield map is now available for all players, and a new set of music tracks has been added. Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is available for the PlayStation 4.
Fairy Fencer F coming to the Switch next month
Sometimes the amount of Nintendo Switch ports can be overwhelming, to say the least. However, I am all for getting Idea Factory's title into as many hands as possible, so the fact Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force (our PS4 review can be read here) is coming to the platform is actually reason for celebration.
The story features the Vile God and the Goddess, who locked each other away with a simultaneous special weapon attacks. As time passes, the special weapons (Furies) were able to be used by special warriors (Fencers). Rumour has it that whoever collects all Furies will be granted one wish, so you can imagine the chaos amongst the Fencers. The game features three storylines, those of the Goddess, the Vile God, and the Evil Goddess. There are three difficulties based on how you want to balance the gameplay.
Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force will be released via the Nintendo eShop sometime next month, although a specific date hasn't been nailed down. It includes all 25 pieces of DLC released for the PlayStation 4 version.
Metro Exodus goes gold, release date moved up
Developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver have confirmed that not only has Metro Exodus has gone gold (development is complete), the game will be released a full week sooner than originally planned. To celebrate, here's the title sequence:
The latest entry to the Metro series was announced at E3 2017 and was supposed to be released this year (2018) until it got delayed to "ensure [the developers] had the time to deliver their ambitious vision for the game," said Deep Silver CEO Klemens Kundratitz.
First slated for released on February 22, 2019, Metro Exodus will now be available on February 15 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
