Play as a six-year-old in this non-violent, spaghetti-western
You heard all of that right. The game is titled El Hijo, and describes itself as a "non-violent, spaghetti-western stealth game." And you play as a six-year-old. Tell me that isn't the best elevator pitch you've heard all year. Here's a teaser:
A farmer and her son are hijacked by bandits, so she decides to leave him at a secluded monastery. El Hijo disagrees with his mother's decision, and decides to escape. It's promised that traditional violence is exchanged for the imagination of a child, a very attractive idea. Shadowplay is the main mechanic, so patience will be key.
El Hijo is developed by Berlin-based Honig Studios and published by HandyGames, a THQ Nordic subsidiary. It will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PC/Mac/Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One next year.
Ni no Kuni II DLC "The Lair of the Lost Lord" available now
December 13 is the launch date for The Lair of the Lost Lord, new DLC for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (so depending on where you live, you should be able to get it now or very soon!) that includes a Labyrinth, news quests, and an addition to the battle system.
The Labyrinth is a new zone that includes new enemies, including the Prince of Wraiths, and challenges as you fight to avoid the kingdom's destruction. The addition to the battle system is called the Martial Method, of which there are two: Gizmo Supermo provides players with hi-tech gadgets, and Ding Dong Discipline is a combat method known only by the finest warriors. New quests give you a glimpse of some of the main characters' pasts, as well as new equipment to collect.
There is also a free update for the game available, including minor fixes and an increased level cap of 120.
Three Danganronpa games coming together into one package
If you've held out for Danganronpa, maybe this news will change that: NISA has announced Danganronpa Trilogy, a physical collection that includes Danganronpa 1•2 Reload and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. The collection will be exclusive to PlayStation 4.
Danganronpa 1•2 Reload is the PS4 version of the first two titles, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. The titles were originally released for PS Vita. In the first, students at Hope's Peak Academy are taken prisoner by a maniacal bear and forced to play a game of life or death. The second is a similar premise, set on sunny Jabberwock Island. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony finds a third set of students again imprisoned, back in a school this time.
Danganronpa Trilogy will be released on March 26 in North America, March 29 in Europe, and April 5 in Australia/NZ.
Here's the first story trailer for God Eater 3
Bandai Namco must be in the giving spirit, as it has released a new story trailer for the highly-anticipated God Eater 3.
The trailer set the stage for the heroes and their fight against Aragami, who are ravaging the post-apocalyptic world. Special attention is given to young Phym, who is vital to the fate of the heroes (and, as a result, the world).
God Eater 3 will be released on February 8, 2019 for PC and PlayStation 4.
